Vin Iberian owner and founder Raymond L Vigil began his career in the food and wine industry in 1992. Always having a love for the kitchen this seemed like the logical direction even after being in the golf industry as a PGA professional for the prior ten years. His love of food and wine took him from the kitchen, to manager and finally to restaurant owner eventually leaving this industry to start Vin Iberian in 2004. Thru all this time in the industry his love of European wines grew and eventually focused on Spain which led to his next career.
After tasting thousands of wines, driving down many dirt roads and dropping off rental cars with over 12,000 kilometers on them we have this portfolio which represents what we believe are some of the highest quality wines found in Spain today. Along with that Spain is also known to produce some of the best values in the wine world. The combination of value and quality has led Spanish wine sales to soar in the US market. In fact from 2000 to 2005 Spanish wine sales in the US market have increased from one million to five million cases imported. This represents the largest growth in any wine segment for the US market. When you consider the decline of the dollar against the euro this is quite an achievement. Or is it a testament to the quality and value?
Vin Iberians goal from the beginning was to build a portfolio that represented all the major wine producing regions of Spain. Nearly all of the top regions are represented here with more being added as new found gems show themselves. All of these wines were selected with food in mind which is in the European tradition. Restaurateurs, retailers and consumers consider this when tasting these wines.
